Now serving more Aging Services Providers
Eligibility now includes the entire continuum of aging services providers. This is achieved by eliminating minimum premiums and expanding underwriting guidelines. This means that, along with CCRC's and stand alone skilled and assisted living facilities, we can now write Senior Housing and Home & Community Based Service Providers (HCBS). HCBS includes Adult Day Care, Home Health Care, Meals Services and PACE Providers all related to the aging services field.
Occurrence Form Available!!
The General & Professional Liability coverage is available on either a Claims-Made or Occurrence form.
Occurrence vs. Claims-Made Forms
The primary difference between the Occurrence and Claims-Made forms is when an incident or claim can be reported to the insurance carrier. Under an Occurrence policy, if a suit is filed today because of an incident that took place two years ago, the policy that was in force at the time of the incident (two years ago) responds to the claim. With Claims-Made coverage, the policy in force at the time the claim is made (rather than when the incident took place) is the one that responds. Claims-Made policies often include a Retroactive date. Claims arising from incidents which took place before the retroactive date are not covered, even if the claim itself is made during the policy period.
The claims-made form was originally developed as an alternative form of coverage and as a way to keep certain liability coverages available for more difficult risks. The Claims-Made form continues to be available to all program-eligible risks.
Occurrence Form Eligibility
The following eligibility criteria will be used to determine whether the occurrence form will be quoted:
- Not-for-Profit Aging Services risks;
